INSPIRATION: We sometimes take for granted the giants that live amongst us. Tennis legend Althea Gibson had grace, courage, strength and style. Her tailored skirts, paired with a beautifully cropped cardigan were all tools she used to navigate the media and a segregated sports culture. 

Althea Neale Gibson (1927–2003) was a pioneer, an activist, a tennis player and professional golfer. A force, a giant and the first to cross the color line of international tennis. In the early 1960s she also became the first Black player to compete on the Women's Professional Golf Tour.
