The "Holy Scribble" was originally released in the fall of 2009 with a feature on Hypebeast that quickly positioned it at the center of street culture chatter. It now sits on an all star list of most requested BKc varsity jackets.
FACT: An attempt was made in 2016 to re-release the “Holy Scribble”, but the multiple embellishments + change to the naked cow leather brought production cost too high. Yet that same year a worn first edition was purchased at the resell price of $3200 by a private buyer/collector.
INSPIRATION: The original design was inspired by the movie Cooley High. A 1975 Blackexploitation box office hit and coming of age story of black teenagers from the Cabrini projects of Chicago in the 60’s. Character Richard "Cochise" Morris wore an iconic varsity that served as inspiration for the “Scribble” varsity.
