With this exploration we celebrate the radical framework of religion and revolution by creating illusions of a powerful people in unanimous union.
In Yoruba culture, Yemaya, Obatala, and Eshu are created beings that dwelled on Earth like you and I. They experienced shortcomings and good fortune and express a wide range of human emotion when confronting us through spiritual mediation. As the Bible serves as a collection of sacred parables and lessons from God to his people, we explore its magical correlation to the many powerful gods of Yorubaland. This portrait series will explore the intimate connections and conversations between: Mother Mary and Yemaya, Obatala and Adam, and divine messengers Eshu and Jesus.
